Thrive Causemetics is one of my favorite brands. When I saw they had powder blushes, I definitely wanted in. I’m very happy with my *Nars blush (in the shade Orgasm), but I wanted to try a matte version. Thrive doesn’t really offer any fully cool-toned blushes (besides Midori, which was way too dark on me), but Kim looked pink enough to try out. Read on to see what I thought!

Color Scheme

Kim is described as a “peachy pink matte” that is recommended for fair, light, and medium skin tones.

It’s a little confusing that Thrive’s website describes the blush as peachy pink, but the color of their photos makes the blush look like a cool-leaning pink. In person, it definitely resembles peachy pink.

Price and Availability

At the time of writing this post, this is priced at $30 for 0.20oz / 5.67g.

Thrive Causemetics is only available for purchase from their official website at the time of writing this. However, I don’t mind buying directly from them because they offer a great loyalty program with cash rewards and often have coupons available. They’re also listed on Rakuten. Plus, you only need to spend $35 for free shipping, and they offer free returns. If you meet the order minimum, you can even snag a free sample of another product. With all these benefits, I don’t feel like I’m missing out by not being able to buy from other stores.

Thrive’s products also seem to stick around for a long time. I’ve been using the same eyeliner for years. They don’t seem to constantly discontinue products like other brands do, and any changes they make in the formulas of their products are improvements.

Packaging

I really like the functionality and feel of this packaging. The lid easily opens and closes, thanks to the magnets, but it’s still plenty secure. The material overall feels high quality and durable.

There is a built-in mirror but no extra accessories included. This is not a dealbreaker for me personally but might be for people who want to apply this on the go.

Pigmentation and Texture

This blush has very high pigmentation, even when applied with a big fluffy brush. A little goes a long way with this. You will want to start with less than you think you’ll need and use a very light hand.

This blush has a dry and powdery texture to the touch. When on my face though, the blush looks smooth and I can’t see any powdery particles at all! It looks one with my skin and blends very well.

While it doesn’t really provide a hydrating or skin-plumping sensation, as the description states, it also doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry.

Swatches

Below are swatches of this blush in overcast daylight, applied with my finger. The top swatch is at full opacity, and the bottom is blended out.

The blush definitely leans more orange once it mixes with my yellow undertones.

Kickup

The kickup in the pan is nonexistent when dipping my brush in, which is great for keeping everything mess free.

Wear Time

This blush is not easy to blend away or sheer out once it’s on. I suspect, because of this, this is why the blush also wears a long time without fading and does not rub off easily.

On the Cheeks

Below is the blush applied with a fluffy brush.

Would I Repurchase?

While I would recommend this blush to others who are seeking this color, I will not be repurchasing this personally. I found it to be a bit too intense for my pale skin and a little too orange. I also prefer wearing cooler-toned eye looks, which pair best with a pink blush, like Thrive’s stick blush in the shade Kaisa (review coming soon!).

Where to Buy

This can only be purchased at the official Thrive Causemetics website.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope this was helpful!
